Electric sports car maker Tesla is opening another dealership in the US Friday ahead of the launch of its Model S electric premium sedan.
The California-based specialist EV maker is opening the dealership, its 22nd worldwide, at the Westchester shopping center in White Plains outside New York.
The facility will feature an exhibit of the Model S drivetrain, a design studio where customers can customize their Model S and touchscreens to provide further information about the company and its cars.
The Model S, which Tesla bills as the first electric premium sedan, was designed from the ground up as an EV. It seats five, can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and has a full array of wireless capabilities on board.
The company says it has more than 10,000 reservations for the Model S, which goes on sale next month.
California based Tesla makes EVs and EV powertrain components for partners such as Toyota and Daimler. The Tesla roadster, its first EV, has been sold 2,250 times worldwide.
